John & Mary to play NIGHT LIGHTS at The Gardens this Friday night

Folk-rock duo John & Mary will be playing NIGHT LIGHTS at The Gardens this Friday, February 10th at 8:00 p.m. at the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens. Admission is $10 Adults, $8 Members, Seniors and Students, $5 Kids (12 to 3 years old). The NIGHT LIGHTS show will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday night. NIGHT LIGHTS at The Gardens is where the horticulture and architecture of the historic gardens is transformed with colorful theatrical and interactive lighting.

In a collaboration that was formed in 1990, John (Lombardo) and Mary (Ramsey) have produced four albums. Lombardo is a former founding member of the alternative rock’s 10,000 Maniacs. Ramsey is the current lead singer of 10,000 Maniacs and performs throughout the year with a variety of musical projects.

Incredible weekend at NIGHT LIGHTS at The Gardens – open again Weds night

Bravo Buffalo!!! The first week of NIGHT LIGHTS at The Gardens at the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens was off-the-hook, with the conservatories and greenhouses filled with lights and amazing artistic performances. For the record, the Gardens show is open for two more weeks on Wednesday through Saturday nights, ultimately closing on February 18th. Over 2,100 guests visited the Gardens in the first week of the show.

Friday night was a magical night, with a performance by alt-rockers Lazlo Hollyfeld. Before their performance, Matt and Scott from the band rolled their marimba into the Palm Dome and set up the instrument inside the trees. Steve French of Volt Vision hooked the musician into the lighting system there for creating an interactive experience between the marimba and the lights. It was a surreal scene looking under the canopy of the Palm Dome and discover two musicians creating wonderful tones of music that enhanced the experience. At 8:00 p.m., in front of a packed audience, Lazlo played their instrumental art-rock to an appreciative crowd.

Lazlo Hollyfeld member to play “the lights” tonight before band’s performance

Tonight, there will be a special performance at 7:30 p.m. in the Palm Dome of the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens), when Matt Felski, percussionist in Lazlo Hollyfeld will play a marimba, that will be attached to interactive lighting controls designed by Steve French of Volt Vision. Select lights will respond to the notes played by Felski on his marimba, an instrument from Guatamala and looks like a xylophone. It will certainly be a creative experience.

Tonight at 8:00 p.m., the all-instrumental band Lazlo Hollyfeld will be playing in House #10 of the Gardens. Their music is very cinematic, taking the listener on a journey in each song. They have long been one of Buffalo’s most-beloved bands. Their music is also being featured during NIGHT LIGHTS in House #11 of the Gardens.

We open are open from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. tonight. Come on out!
