3/14/10 – Planning on lighting the night

Steve French of Volt Vision

Yesterday, I made the trek down to Warren, PA for a planning session with Mr. Steve French of Volt Vision. Steve was a valuable contributor to NIGHT LIGHTS in 2009, and we are very excited to work with him again this year. A few nights he brought an interactive LED display that changed colors to one’s voice or music. He’s been a hard man to track down, as he has been working in Colorado and Thailand, and had a baby…all since NIGHT LIGHTS closed for the season last October.

After chowing down some good breakfast at the Kountry Kafe in Warren, Steve and I went over to Volt Vision’s HQ located in a business incubator. Stepping into Volt Vision’s research space is much like entering a secret lab where many mysterious items are being constructed and designed. You know that person who designs all the cool things in James Bond movies…it’s like that!!!! Steve lives in the world of LED lighting and is working on a few exciting installations for NIGHT LIGHTS 2010 season. I don’t want to give away what ideas are swimming around Steve’s head, but it will be a fun and creative way to light up the night.
