The “illuminating” return of NIGHT LIGHTS at The Gardens in February
Buffalo, NY - The interior of the Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens will once again be illuminated with theatrical and interactive lighting over three-weeks in February. Starting February 1, NIGHT LIGHTS at the Gardens will be a return engagement that attracted over 4,500 visitors last year. This year, the historic gardens will be illuminated in different and exciting ways over nine nights in February.
NIGHT LIGHTS at the Gardens completely transforms the Botanical Gardens, using colors and tones inspired by the natural world that will focus on the gorgeous plant collection, the beautiful Lord & Burnham glass domes, and of course, the waterfall in the Ancient Rainforest. NIGHT LIGHTS at the Gardens is a family-fun event where children and adults can enjoy this unique experience together and interact with the lights and sounds.
This year, NIGHT LIGHTS at the Gardens is utilizing a few Western New York artists to enhance the show. The cinematic sounds of Lazlo Hollyfeld (Buffalo), will be featured on February 3, John & Mary on February 10 and the Gahu Drum Ensemble’s rhythmic percussions on February 17. Each artist will begin at 8:00pm. Also new this year, Buffalo artist Zach Boehler will be installing sculptures inside the Botanical Gardens to enhance the visitor’s experience.
NIGHT LIGHTS at the Gardens will take place on Wednesday through Saturday nights February 1-4, February 8-11, and February 15-18. NIGHT LIGHTS will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will stay open until 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for Garden members, seniors (55+) and students (13+), $5 kids 3-12 and kids under 3 are free. Guest passes and coupons are not valid during this show. Tickets can be purchased online at www.buffalogardens.com or at the door.
The lighting designers are SitlerHQ, LLC and Volt Vision, Inc. who own and operate the successful eco-tourism attraction NIGHT LIGHTS at The Heron in Chautauqua County. NIGHT LIGHTS at The Heron is a one-mile walk in the woods at night through a lighted trail and is considered to be one of North America’s most unique tourism attractions.
NIGHT LIGHTS at the Gardens is made possible by the generous support of Local Edge, Buffalo Spree Magazine, Star 102.5, Seagram’s Escapes and Dundee Ale & Lagers.
